I am based out of Durango, CO and offer online sessions throughout the Western US as well as in-person sessions in Colorado and Arizona. Some people prefer the intimate setting of my office, the calming neutral environment I’ve created, while others prefer the convenience and flexibility of Telehealth.

Sessions are 60 minutes in length.

Providing secure video and phone-based therapy in the Western US

Just imagine not having to worry about driving, parking or traffic. It’s as easy as having your device (phone, tablet, or computer) connected to the internet. No need for having to add extra time into your schedule.

I’ve “seen” clients in their personal offices, bedrooms, kitchens, hotel rooms and even from a car (not while driving).

Often pets can be included in the session, warm blankets, personal props-journals, access to food and drinks…it can be very relaxing and sometimes MORE therapeutic than traveling to my office.

Yes, it’s different from traditional in person counseling. Most every single client that has expressed some initial hesitation (due to the newness or efficacy) tells how surprised they were after the session-how effective online therapy is.

How It Works

I always start with a free phone call for all of my new clients — either in person or online. During that call we chat about how to get connected using the online platform. I’m not a tech guru so I have chosen a user friendly platform and I am happy to talk you through setting it up.

I also send you intake paperwork electronically that you can fill out and send back to me. I then send you a link with your session time and away we go. Payment is also done all electronically and we discuss these options. It’s really THAT easy.

Realizing that sometimes there are bumps to navigate — I generally allow for extra time during the initial session to allow for these bumps — we do it together.

Frequently Asked Questions

I offer a blended and highly individualized approach to each client, as no two clients are the same. Some clients prefer and work better utilizing a more traditional talk therapy or solution based approach. I am also trained and passionate about working with a more cutting edge, scientific modality, steeped in neuroscience that incorporates body sensing with mindfulness practices. We work together to find the method that is most effective and supportive.

Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the courage to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, I’ll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.

The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, counseling is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” Lastly, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion, and you’ve been confiding in a friend or family member, there is the risk that once you are feeling better you could start avoiding that person so you aren’t reminded of this difficult time in your life.

Medication can be effective but it alone cannot solve all issues. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with counseling. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals.

Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQ. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.

I do not accept insurance. However, I have had many clients successfully get reimbursed for their sessions, as I am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with appropriate documentation of your visits if your insurance company requests it for reimbursement.

I do accept HSA (health savings account) debit cards.
